vim-common-7.4.1989-2.fc25.x86_64: VIM (VIsual editor iMproved) is an updated and improved version of the vi editor. Vi was the first real screen-based editor for UNIX, and is still very popular. VIM improves on vi by adding new features: multiple windows, multi-level undo, block highlighting and more. The vim-common package contains files which every VIM binary will need in order to run. If you are installing vim-enhanced or vim-X11, you'll also need to install the vim-common package.

If you install this package, you can run VIM as an X application with a full GUI interface and mouse support. Install the vim-X11 package if you'd like to try out a version of vi with graphics and mouse capabilities. You'll also need to install the vim-common package.

velocity-1.7-19.fc24.noarch: Velocity is a Java-based template engine. It permits anyone to use the simple yet powerful template language to reference objects defined in Java code. When Velocity is used for web development, Web designers can work in parallel with Java programmers to develop web sites according to the Model-View-Controller (MVC) model, meaning that web page designers can focus solely on creating a site that looks good, and programmers can focus solely on writing top-notch code. Velocity separates Java code from the web pages, making the web site more maintainable over the long run and providing a viable alternative to Java Server Pages (JSPs) or PHP. Velocity's capabilities reach well beyond the realm of web sites; for example, it can generate SQL and PostScript and XML (see Anakia for more information on XML transformations) from templates. It can be used either as a standalone utility for generating source code and reports, or as an integrated component of other systems. Velocity also provides template services for the Turbine web application framework. Velocity+Turbine provides a template service that will allow web applications to be developed according to a true MVC model.

vconfig-1.9-18.fc24.x86_64: The vconfig program configures and adjusts 802.1q VLAN parameters. This tool is deprecated in favor of "ip link" command.

valgrind-3.15.0-15.lbn25.x86_64: Valgrind is an instrumentation framework for building dynamic analysis tools. There are Valgrind tools that can automatically detect many memory management and threading bugs, and profile your programs in detail. You can also use Valgrind to build new tools. The Valgrind distribution currently includes six production-quality tools: a memory error detector (memcheck, the default tool), two thread error detectors (helgrind and drd), a cache and branch-prediction profiler (cachegrind), a call-graph generating cache and branch-prediction profiler (callgrind), and a heap profiler (massif).

uuid-1.6.2-34.fc25.x86_64: OSSP uuid is a ISO-C:1999 application programming interface (API) and corresponding command line interface (CLI) for the generation of DCE 1.1, ISO/IEC 11578:1996 and RFC 4122 compliant Universally Unique Identifier (UUID). It supports DCE 1.1 variant UUIDs of version 1 (time and node based), version 3 (name based, MD5), version 4 (random number based) and version 5 (name based, SHA-1). Additional API bindings are provided for the languages ISO-C++:1998 and Perl:5 Optional backward compatibility exists for the ISO-C DCE-1.1 and Perl Data::UUID APIs.

uucp-1.07-46.fc24.x86_64: The uucp command copies files between systems. Uucp is primarily used by remote machines downloading and uploading email and news files to local machines.

util-linux-2.37.2-1.lbn25.x86_64: The util-linux package contains a large variety of low-level system utilities that are necessary for a Linux system to function. Among others, Util-linux contains the fdisk configuration tool and the login program.

ustr-1.0.4-21.fc24.x86_64: Micro string library, very low overhead from plain strdup() (Ave. 44% for 0-20B strings). Very easy to use in existing C code. At it's simplest you can just include a single header file into your .c and start using it. This package also distributes pre-built shared libraries.

userspace-rcu-0.11.1-2.lbn25.x86_64: This data synchronization library provides read-side access which scales linearly with the number of cores. It does so by allowing multiples copies of a given data structure to live at the same time, and by monitoring the data structure accesses to detect grace periods after which memory reclamation is possible.

usermode-1.111-8.lbn25.x86_64: The usermode package contains the userhelper program, which can be used to allow configured programs to be run with superuser privileges by ordinary users.

usbutils-010-2.lbn25.x86_64: This package contains utilities for inspecting devices connected to a USB bus.

usbredir-0.7.1-2.fc24.x86_64: The usbredir libraries allow USB devices to be used on remote and/or virtual hosts over TCP. The following libraries are provided: usbredirparser: A library containing the parser for the usbredir protocol usbredirhost: A library implementing the USB host side of a usbredir connection. All that an application wishing to implement a USB host needs to do is: * Provide a libusb device handle for the device * Provide write and read callbacks for the actual transport of usbredir data * Monitor for usbredir and libusb read/write events and call their handlers

urw-fonts-2.4-22.lbn25.noarch: Free good quality versions of the 35 standard PostScript(TM) fonts, donated under the GPL by URW++ Design and Development GmbH. Install the urw-fonts package if you need free versions of standard PostScript fonts.

uriparser-0.9.3-1.lbn25.x86_64: Uriparser is a strictly RFC 3986 compliant URI parsing library written in C. uriparser is cross-platform, fast, supports Unicode and is licensed under the New BSD license.

upower-0.99.11-6.lbn25.x86_64: UPower (formerly DeviceKit-power) provides a daemon, API and command line tools for managing power devices attached to the system.

unzip-6.0-47.lbn25.x86_64: The unzip utility is used to list, test, or extract files from a zip archive. Zip archives are commonly found on MS-DOS systems. The zip utility, included in the zip package, creates zip archives. Zip and unzip are both compatible with archives created by PKWARE(R)'s PKZIP for MS-DOS, but the programs' options and default behaviors do differ in some respects. Install the unzip package if you need to list, test or extract files from a zip archive.

unixODBC-2.3.7-6.lbn25.x86_64: Install unixODBC if you want to access databases through ODBC. You will also need the mariadb-connector-odbc package if you want to access a MySQL or MariaDB database, and/or the postgresql-odbc package for PostgreSQL.

unique-1.1.6-15.lbn25.x86_64: Unique is a library for writing single instance applications, that is applications that are run once and every further call to the same binary either exits immediately or sends a command to the running instance.
