You will need to install cron daemon to run the jobs from the crontabs. The cron daemon such as cronie or fcron checks the crontab files to see when particular commands are scheduled to be executed. If commands are scheduled, it executes them. Crontabs handles a basic system function, so it should be installed on your system.

cronie-anacron-1.5.7-5.fc36.x86_64: Anacron is part of cronie that is used for running jobs with regular periodicity which do not have exact time of day of execution. The default settings of anacron execute the daily, weekly, and monthly jobs, but anacron allows setting arbitrary periodicity of jobs. Using anacron allows running the periodic jobs even if the system is often powered off and it also allows randomizing the time of the job execution for better utilization of resources shared among multiple systems.

CrackLib performs several tests on passwords: it tries to generate words from a username and gecos entry and checks those words against the password; it checks for simplistic patterns in passwords; and it checks for the password in a dictionary. CrackLib is actually a library containing a particular C function which is used to check the password, as well as other C functions. CrackLib is not a replacement for a passwd program; it must be used in conjunction with an existing passwd program. Install the cracklib package if you need a program to check users' passwords to see if they are at least minimally secure. If you install CrackLib, you will also want to install the cracklib-dicts package.

cpp-13.2.1-3.lbn36.x86_64: Cpp is the GNU C-Compatible Compiler Preprocessor. Cpp is a macro processor which is used automatically by the C compiler to transform your program before actual compilation. It is called a macro processor because it allows you to define macros, abbreviations for longer constructs. The C preprocessor provides four separate functionalities: the inclusion of header files (files of declarations that can be substituted into your program); macro expansion (you can define macros, and the C preprocessor will replace the macros with their definitions throughout the program); conditional compilation (using special preprocessing directives, you can include or exclude parts of the program according to various conditions); and line control (if you use a program to combine or rearrange source files into an intermediate file which is then compiled, you can use line control to inform the compiler about where each source line originated). You should install this package if you are a C programmer and you use macros.

Archives are files which contain a collection of other files plus information about them, such as their file name, owner, timestamps, and access permissions. The archive can be another file on the disk, a magnetic tape, or a pipe. GNU cpio supports the following archive formats: binary, old ASCII, new ASCII, crc, HPUX binary, HPUX old ASCII, old tar and POSIX.1 tar. By default, cpio creates binary format archives, so that they are compatible with older cpio programs. When it is extracting files from archives, cpio automatically recognizes which kind of archive it is reading and can read archives created on machines with a different byte-order. Install cpio if you need a program to manage file archives.
